Teaming up with the iconic fashion house Yves Saint Laurent for their launch of their Black Opium fragrance, we were asked develop an innovative press experience - focusing on the key notes of the perfume.
In order to engage participants with these key notes, we decided to separate them into inhalable flavours, and get each person to draw in vapour through a clear straw. Coffee, jasmine & vanilla were all transformed into smoking vapour clouds, encased within beautiful glass vials and displayed on tall black perspex plinths.
Press were invited to inhale these parts of the perfume, to gain a deeper understanding of the elements that made up Black Opium - hitting all of the senses to give the best full bodied taste of the notes. This concept proved so popular it was then rolled out to the YSL fragrance counters at Selfridges & Debenhams.
We were then brought back in for the launch of the Black Opium
Eau de Toilette, where we handcrafted the flavours into edible treats - including Pear & Cardamom Ice Cream, Jasmine Sorbet & Coffee Gelato.
